Afghanistan

The facade of this stunning pavilion portrays Afghanistan’s first and most famous Dar-ul-Aman Palace, built in the 1920s by King Amanullah, as a symbol of entering the modern era. Damaged during the conflicts in the 1990s, it has been fully restored, and since 2019, is a museum that now stands as the pride of the country where tradition has survived the test of time. Authentic spices and sweets bring back memories of another day as you take in the talent of the wood and copper carvers and potters and also bring home an Afghan carpet.

Japan

Embark on a journey to the Land of the Rising Sun and enjoy an enchanting exploration of Japan’s rich heritage and allure at this colorful and captivating pavilion. As you step through the traditional Torii gate, you'll be greeted by stunning Geishas and formidable Samurai warriors adorned in kimonos and wielding ogi fans. You can marvel at the grandeur of Mount Fuji, explore a five-tiered pagoda, and even witness the excitement of a sumo wrestling match in the Dohyo. A visit to the Japan Pavilion will undoubtedly instill a profound appreciation for Japan's rich cultural heritage.

Turkey

Immerse yourself in the rich history of the country, where the culture and heritage recall the glory of past civilisations. Wander through the architectural marvels showcasing Turkey's famed landscapes, including the awe-inspiring Hagia Sophia, the iconic Galata Tower, the historic Taksim market, and the enchanting fairytale scenery of Cappadocia with its spectacular monuments and the influences of Persia, Greece, and Armenia through the ages.

Artisans

Throughout Season 29, guests were amazed by the captivating craftsmanship on display. Skilled artisans demonstrated traditional techniques like hand-weaving textiles, carving wood into furniture, crafting handmade shoes, and designing intricate jewellery and souvenirs. The best part? The air was filled with mouthwatering aromas from the lively food stalls, where vibrant spices, herbs, dry fruits, and more were in abundance. Visitors discovered high-quality saffron strands at local prices, along with candied nuts, locally sourced honey and oils, aromatic tea blends, and rich coffee beans. And the best part? They had the chance to sample before making a purchase.

Heritage Village

One of the most authentic experiences of Season 29 awaited guests at the Heritage Village, quietly nestled behind the UAE Pavilion. Visitors stepped into a Bedouin journey—riding camels through pathways lined with sand houses and traditional shops, just like a desert caravan. Their journey ended at a warm majlis, where they were greeted with Arabic coffee and dates, and mesmerized by a live falcon show that perfectly captured the spirit of timeless Arabian hospitality.

Shopping

Guests were immersed in the best shopping experiences at Global Village, from vibrant stalls to bespoke boutiques. It was a unique blend of browsing, handpicking, and haggling, where they were spoilt for choice. Everything from antiques, handcrafted items, furniture, clothing, and jewellery, to artworks, skincare products, and much more, was on display for them to explore.

Cultural Shows

Global Village was the place to be, as every pavilion offered something exciting! With vibrant performances filled with infectious energy and stirring music, guests got to experience different cultures up close through folk songs and dances!
