Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal, a magnificent white marble structure, was commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Known as the "Crown of Palaces" in Arabic, this architectural marvel stands in all its beauty and finesse in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It seamlessly blends architectural styles from the diverse corners of the Mughal Empire, including Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish, and Indian influences. Its intricate artistry and architectural brilliance required 17 years to complete. Remarkably, the construction materials were transported to the site with the assistance of 1,000 elephants.
