It's been a wonderful season! See you again from 18 October 2023 for Season 28 of Global Village when we're back in action.
Season 27 was truly one for the books and here are some of the highlights that made it so wonderful!
Season 27 was a food haven with unique flavours from every corner of the globe with 200+ restaurants, cafes, and street food stalls. It had a dose of extra sweetness with the launch of a brand new dessert destination - Railway Market. Inspired by the famous Maeklong Railway Market in Bangkok, Thailand, this specialty dining concept promised a sweet experience and was a paradise for the sweet tooth.

Guests got to experience the cuisine, cultures and colours of Asia as they sauntered down the Road of Asia in Season 27. This special pedestrian street brought the bustling atmosphere of the best Asian markets to Global Village with authentic street food, products and crafts from 13 Asian countries including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Philippines and more. They savoured Asian flavours with signature street food including Taipei Hotpot, Pancit from the Philippines, Pho from Vietnam and authentic Ceylon Koththu from Sri Lanka. This was also a one-stop shop for homegrown products from 13 Asian countries.
Season 27 had a line-up of over 40,000 spectacular shows and special events for the whole family! From family-friendly shows with all-time favourite characters, to traditional cultural performances, street entertainment, dazzling Main Stage performances, and an awe-inspiring stunt show - there was something for everyone! Guests were captivated by a jam-packed calendar of special events and festivities throughout the season. The dance game was strong too with some of the world’s most incredible talent burning up the stage at the park. From the Irish-American phenomenon Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance to the gravity-defying Indian dance crew V Unbeatable, audiences were treated to some high-energy, sometimes jaw-dropping routines that had everyone spellbound! With many new additions and seven unique galleries featuring over 200+ exhibits, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® museum was more mystifying and delightful than ever.
Historical artefacts from around the world, engaging interactives, awe-inspiring art, and incredible tales untold of people and places from all corners of the globe, created an experience our guests won’t forget anytime soon.
Not just that! An all-new 4D state-of-the-art theatre left guests hanging at the edge of their seats! Leaving their senses running wild as they experienced every bump, drop, and turn at the all-new Ripley's Believe It Or Not!® Moving Theater 4D.
Season 27 saw the introduction of the Heroes Gallery, celebrating some of the most beloved comic-book superheroes as well as the Space Gallery, which included a timely exhibit dedicated to the UAE’s very own space expedition. And if that was not enough for all the space cowboys, we had you reaching for your popcorn with our rotating exhibits. From iconic props from Star Wars to Back to the Future memorabilia, each one was a walk down movie memory lane! View the gallery to witness the madness!

From music to dance, Season 27 left everyone blown away by the amazing international musical talent that was featured! Number one artist RAYE, and Tinie Tempah, the MOBO and BRIT award-winning artist treated Global Village guests to unforgettable live performances at Global Village to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Virgin Radio Dubai and for a good cause too! 15% of all entry ticket receipts and all proceeds from the last stunt show of the evening on the day were donated to the Red Crescent Bridges of Giving, UAE relief campaign, in support of those affected by the recent earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye.
From the Wonderers' Kids Fest with its giant classic board games, thrilling skill competitions, and interactive shows to the Happiness Street Fest that celebrated female talent from across the globe, every event at Global Village during Season 27 was a celebration of diversity, creativity, art and culture. And when it came time to commemorate the usual holidays and seasonal celebrations, be it Eid, National Day, New Year's Eve, or Christmas, Global Village invited everyone to come together in our more wonderful world enticing visitors with the promise of rousing performances, spectacular fireworks and the best party in town!
From regular raffle draws to unique taxi and glass box challenges that were both engaging and entertaining, it really was a season of winning at Global Village! And that's not all! Creativity and talent were rewarded too! A great example of this was the launch of the Young Director's Award where two young, amateur moviemakers walked away with Bloom World Academy scholarships worth over AED 1 Million.
Friends and family gathered from Iftar to Suhour in the beautiful air-conditioned, outdoor Majlis.
Visitors created fond memories while enjoying board games, the pleasant beats of the oud drums, and basking in the tradition of live folk performances. Blending with it all came the aroma from the sprawling Iftar and Suhour combining flavours from around the world.
