قبائل الماساي التي استقرت عند البحيرات العظمى هي أحد أسرار القارة السمراء وأساطيرها. لذلك يقوم جناح أفريقيا بالتعريف بهم، إلى جانب شعوب النوبة التي تعود أصولهم إلى أجزاء كبيرة من شمال السودان وجنوب مصر. وتشتهر قبائل الماساي بألوانها النابضة بالحياة وطقوسها المهيبة، وزخارفها التي تزين واجهة الجناح. فيما ترمز الأقواس المتقاطعة إلى متحف أروشا، كما يرمز مجسم لبرج أفريقيا إلى وحدة الأمم الأفريقية.
